I love where I live, yesterday I made pink gooseberry jam with fruit from my local green grocer, Dave at ‘5 a day’ High Street, Alcester, after having the most scrumptious, bacon packed, fresh crusty bread sandwich at ‘Fat Cats’ Cafe, High Street, Alcester, (oh and bacon from Reg Phillips butcher, also on the High Street).
I am going to paint two stools today picked up from ‘Classic Clutter’, Alcester High Street, and must plug the lovely Tracey at ‘Vintage Love’ , Market Place Alcester, facebook.com/vintageloveuk who is now stocking a selection of Sara Page design. Finally I have just come back from my printers; Dean, Pete, Gavin, Chris and Candy, a great team, Space Graphic Solutions. Chris despite having had hardly any sleep, back in the early hours from Henley Festival (hanging printed wallpaper), he still helped me out with a sample print out of my Allotment design for glass kitchen splash back/wallpaper.
I feel very privileged to have lived for 20 years, in this beautiful part of Warwickshire, where I have these talented, entrepreneurial people on my doorstep. I just wanted to champion ‘local’, and the ‘high St’ something my family and friends will tell you I have banged on about for the last 20 years, so forgive me for my indulgence.
